Our story
It all began with Jessi’s fascination with vintage goods ever since she was a child. She’d browse local marketplaces, find a vintage piece, and wonder about the things it had seen and the story it could tell. Meanwhile, Devon was daydreaming about what business he could one day run and how he could contribute his love for hands-on work to the success of his future company. When Devon and Jessi met, they couldn’t stop dreaming up ideas of working together and businesses that they could create. After dipping their toes into many different fields of work, they purchased a vintage couch and sold it the next day, only to realize that it could be the beginning of something extraordinary. After many more couches and chairs were sold, they felt as if their creativity was confined and their skills were not utilized. With Jessi’s skills in design and seeing something beautiful behind something old and Devon’s skills in craftmanship and his Entrepreneurship background from his degree, they decided to marry their expertise, birthing Lauren Douglas Co.

Every single LD piece is truly picked with care. We care about the past of each piece. It goes beyond tickling our curiosity by digging into the history of each build to scoping out the hidden characteristics. Yeah, the vintage furniture gets our attention by its beauty, but, what does it look like on the inside? Looks aren’t enough here. Each piece goes through our evaluation test from physically smelling them to inspecting the wood, we carefully hand-select the builds that make their way to our warehouse.
